Firework factory explosion in Thailand leaves multiple casualties
The public relations department of Suphan Buri province said the initial tally showed 10 people were involved in the incident while local media reported that at least nine were killed.
Hanoi (VNA) – An explosion occurred at a firework manufacturing plant in Suphan Buri provꦆince, central Tღhailand, on July 30, resulting in multiple casualties.
The factory ignited around 11:00 am in Mueang district of Suphan Buri province, north of Bangkok.
The provincial public relations department said the initial tally showed 10 people were involved in the incident. Meanwhile, local media reported that at least nine were killed.
Factory fires are common in Thailand, where enforcement of safety regulations remain weak.
Last year, an explosion at another firework factory in the same province killed at least 23 people./.
A complete ceasefire had already been observed across the border, demonstrating a shared commitment of Thailand and Cambodia to reducing tensions and advancing towards sincere military dialogue.
The incident took place at 12:31 pm on July 28, when the suspect—identified as a former employee of the market—suddenly opened fire on people inside, and the gunman later took his own life at the scene.
