Fishermen in the southern coastal areas of Khanh Hoa province are in the midst of a busy sargassum harvesting season. From early morning, locals paddle basket boats 700 to 1,000 metres offshore to collect natural seaweed growing 2–3 metres below the surface. Thanks to abundant supply, each person can harvest 400–500kg of fresh sargassum in a single morning, earning around 500,000–600,000 VND (approximately 19–23 USD) per day.
