Tourism boom positions Lao Cai as northern Vietnam’s rising star
With renowned destinations such as Sa Pa, Bac Ha, Y Ty and Fansipan, the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai continues to shine as a rising star on Vietnam’s tourism map. In the first half of 2025, the province welcomed an estimated over 5.6 million visitors - a 37% increase from the same period in 2024, reaching 55% of the year’s target. These impressive figures underscore Lao Cai’s growing appeal as a national tourism hotspot.
