Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi has allocated 5 billion VND (196,000 USD) to support Nghe An in overcoming the aftermath of storm Wipha, which recently caused extensive ܫfloods,🌸 landslides, and damage to infrastructure and livelihoods in the central province.

The assistance reflects the spirit of solidarity and shared responsibility between localities, in line with Hanoi’s long-standing commitment for the whole nation.
On behalf of the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Father Front (VFF) Committee of Hanoi, Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai on July 24 sent a message of sympathy to leaders and people of Nghe An province. The message conveyed deep concern for the severe losses suffered by residents, particularly in areas most affected by the recent storm. She expressed her belief that, with the support of the Party, State, and other localities, and through the determination and unity of its officials, armed forces, and people, Nghe An province will soon overcome the current challenges, recover from the disaster, and stabilise the life of affected residents. Prolonged heavy rains brought by storm Wipha led to serious floods and landslides across Nghe An, causing significant human and material losses. Many houses were damaged or swept away, vast areas of crops and aquaculture were submerged, and many roads and bridges were destroyed. Several localities remained isolated due to rising floodwater./.
