Citizen protection measures carried out for two Vietnamese who died in Greece

The embassy advises Vietnamese citizens travelling in Greece that they should avoid standing close to cliff edges, boat sides, and refrain from going out to sea during storms to prevent unfortunate incidents.

Hanoi (VNA) - T🎐wo Vietnamese citizens fell into the sea at noon on August 8 at Sarakiniko Beach on Milos island, Greece, according to the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece.

Despite rescue efforts by Greek authorities, both victims were pronounced dead.
The embassy promptly contacted and coordinated with relevant agencies in both Greece and Vietnam, as well as the travel company involved, to ascertain the incident. It also carried out citizen protection measures, and contacted with the victims’ families in Vietnam to offer condolences and support. Implementing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ instructions, the embassy continues to work closely with the relevant authorities in both countries, providing guidance on necessary procedures and assisting the families with funeral arrangements. The embassy advises Vietnamese citizens travelling in Greece that as there are currently gale-force winds, they should avoid standing close to cliff edges, boat sides, and refrain from going out to sea during storms to prevent unfortunate incidents./.
