Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT)is organising the Vietnam Tourism Road Show 2018 in the four Chinese cities ofJinan, Hangzhou, Wuhan and Beijing from April 12-22.
The event is part of a national tourism promotion programmeheld by the VNAT this year.
In the Chinese cities, the agency introduces Vietnam’stourism potential, products and development policies, with the focus on seatourism.
It also plans to organise meetings between Vietnamese andChinese travel agencies to intensify cooperation opportunities and increase thenumber of Chinese visitors to Vietnam and vice versa.
In addition, the VNAT will coordinate with airlines tointroduce direct air routes and push for the opening of more routes linking thetwo countries’ localities.
With a population of 1.3 billion, China has become apotential tourism market for many countries. The World Tourism Organisationforecasts that around 220 million Chinese people will go abroad for holidays in2025.
More than 4 million Chinese people visited Vietnam lastyear, representing a year-on-year surge of 48.6 percent.
In the first quarter of this year, Vietnam served over 1.35million Chinese tourists, a year-on-year rise of 42.9 percent.
Vietnam aims to serve between 15 – 17 million foreigners and78 million domestic travellers this year, with total revenue expected to hit620 trillion VND (27.28 billion USD), up 21.35 percent year on year.-VNA
