Party chief attends opening of exhibition on late leader

Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary To Lam on June 29 attended the opening ceremony of an exhibition featuring the life and career of late Party leader Nguyen Van Linh on the occasion of the late leader’s 110th birth anniversary (July 1, 1915-2025).
With more than 200 documents, photos, and artifacts on display, the exhibition introduces the life and revolutionary career of the late Party General Secretary, with an aim to contribute to educating young generations about revolutionary traditions, arousing patriotism and national pride, and inspiring every Vietnamese citizen today to strive for a prosperous and wealthy nation.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Le Hoai Trung emphasised that the Party has once affirmed Linh as one of President Ho Chi Minh’s outstanding disciples - a steadfast, loyal, and devoted communist who dedicated his life to the ideals of national independence and socialism, for the happiness of the people. He was a highly respected leader of the Party, people, and military, and a trusted friend of international friends.
Trung expressed his hope that the exhibition will, to some extent, convey the immense contributions and admirable character of the communist soldier, both in his work and everyday life.

Through the event, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the arduous path that Vietnam and its revolution traversed during the 20th century, as well as the historical significance of the great victories achieved by its people under the leadership of the Party, he stated, adding that leaders like Linh played a crucial and pioneering role in these victories.
The displayed documents and images also highlight the late leader’s significant and effective contributions to formulating the Party’s and State’s renewal policies an༺d guidelines. The exhibition on 80-year national achievements must vividly portray Vietnam’s journey of safeguarding and building the nation, while inspiring national pride and aspiration as the country enters a new development era, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on June 23.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
With five themes, the ongoing exhibition highlights Chi Minh as a symbol of patriotism, peace, cultural exchange, and national development. It also showcases images of Japan’s cherry blossoms and Vietnam’s lotus flowers, representing the two nations’ shared cultural values.
The adoption of the two-tier local government model marks the beginning of a new era in Vietnam, as envisioned by its leaders. Although simple in appearance, this step represents a major leap forward in the nation’s development journey, promising benefits not only for current generations but also for those to come, a Chinese expert has said.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for assessing both the positive and negative factors and propose appropriate response strategies; and clearly defining key tasks and solutions for July, the third quarter, and the remainder of 2025.

The two leaders welcomed the two negotiating delegations reaching consensus on a Vietnam - US joint statement concerning a fair, reciprocal, and balanced trade agreement framework.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973, the bilateral relationship has continuously developed in a solid, substantive, and effective manner across various fields, including politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, development cooperation, education and training, and people-to-people exchange.
On the East Sea issue, Vietnam’s consistent stance is to persistently strive to solve all disputes and disagreements by peaceful means based on international law, especially the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982, and international and regional commitments such as the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC); and support the prompt conclusion of a substantive and effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).
Vietnamese Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang suggested continued promotion of joint work in defence industry, training, and United Nations peacekeeping operations, while exploring new fields like war legacy resolution, maritime security, military medicine, military sports and culture, and service arms cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc has called on all countries to jointly take action to revitalise multilateralism, promote active multilateralism, and work together to restore disruptions in international cooperation on development, trade, and investment.
The diplomat concluded that with the solid foundation and achievements of the past 50 years, and the strong political will of the two governments and the people, Vietnam–Portugal relations are set to expand and deepen, rising to a new height that reflects the true potential, shared values, and mutual aspirations of the two nations
The project to renovate, upgrade, and expand the monument site was a gift from the Vietnamese task force to its Lao counterpart, with a total value of 54 billion VND (2.06 million USD). The Lao side served as project investor, while the construction was undertaken by Company 206 of Military Zone 5 under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence.
