Central provinces strive to add value to marine-based tourism
The central coastal provinces of Binh Thuan, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai have exerted great efforts to create more value for their marine-based tourism products.

Hanoi(VNA) – The central coastal provinces of Binh Thuan, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai haveexerted great efforts to create more value for their marine-based tourismproducts.
Binh Thuan launched amusic fountain show named “Huyen thoai lang chai” (Legend of the FishingVillage) and the Sand Sculpture Park Forgotten Land early this year to wowvisitors.
The province has cooperatedwith other cities and provinces, such as HCM City, Lam Dong and Southeasternprovinces, to develop tours that connect regional tourist destinations.
The province hasalso worked to draw more investment in tourism. To date it has more than 400valid projects in tourism and services, worth some 52 trillion VND.
In addition, BinhThuan has improved local service quality to make the province a safe andfriendly destination. It has raised awareness of local service providers of theappropriate attitude towards visitors.
Ham Tan, La Gi andHam Thuan Nam in the southern part of the province have become tourist hotpotssince the beginning of 2017, with adventure tours attracting many holidaymakers.
According to theprovincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Binh Thuan saw more than1.2 million tourist arrivals in the first quarter of this year, up nearly 10percent from a year earlier.
It earnedapproximately 2.9 trillion VND from tourism during the period, up 20 percent.
The province aims toreceive 5 million tourist arrivals by the end of this year, generating about10.8 trillion VND in revenue.
The provinces ofQuang Nam and Quang Ngai have taken advantage of the beauty of Cu Lao Cham, TamHai and Ly Son islands to develop marine-based tourism.
They have integratedcommunity-based tourism into marine-based tours, allowing tourists toexperience the distinctive culture of locals and explore the biodiversity ofthe islands.
