All four Vietnamese students win medals at International Olympiad in Informatics 2025

Hanoi (VNA) – All four stud🦂ents of Vietnam’s nationa🔯l team competing at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025 in Sucre, Bolivia, have won medals, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on August 2.

The team brought home one gold, two silvers, and one bronze, reinforcing Vietnam’s strong record in the increasingly competitive academic competition. The gold medal went to Le Kien Thanh, a 12th grader from Le Quy Don High School for Gifted Students in Gia Lai province.
Dang Huy Hau, a 10th grader from Thang Long High School for Gifted Students in Lam Dong province, and Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, an 11th grader at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences under the University of Science of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), secured the silver medals. Ninh Quang Thang, a 12th grader from Ha Long High School for Gifted Students in Quang Ninh province, earned the bronze.
With all four students winning medals, Vietnam ranked among the top eight countries and territories on the medal table, behind China, the Republic of Korea, Romania, Singapore, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Japan. The team’s success at IOI 2025 reaffirms the strength of Vietnam’s education system on the world stage and reflects the effectiveness of the ministry’s approach to identifying, selecting, and nurturing gifted students. The 37th IOI was held in person from July 27 to August 3 in Sucre, Bolivia, with the participation of 330 contestants from 86 countries and territories./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
