Vietnam’s first international hospital celebrates 20th anniversary

Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – FV Hospital – the firstinternational one 𝓡in Vietnam - has been urged to continue providing high-qualitymedical services for not only local patients but also foreigners who are livingand working in Ho Chi Minh City, said Luong Ngoc Khue, Director of the MedicalExamination and Treatment Department at the celebration of 20thanniversary of the hospital on April 9.
For the last 20 years, the hospital has treated nearly 5 millionpatients, 25% of them foreigners. It has been accredited by the Joint CommissionInternational (JCI) three times. Currently, the hospital has 230 beds, and 36 specialties withthe capacity of receiving 1,500 patients daily. In 2006, it established acharity fund and invited many of the world's leading surgeons to Vietnam totreat more than 600 disadvantaged children with birth defects.

Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People'sCommittee, acknowledged the contributions by the hospital to the city’shealthcare sector over the years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Duc said that with the JCI, the hospital creates advantages forthe city as it aims to attract foreigners who come there for both tourism andmedical purposes./.
FV Hospital has been selected by the French Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City as the vaccination centre for the French community living in southern Vietnam.

Today, the press for foreign service has evolved into a distinct, irreplaceable force, bridging Vietnam with the world and portraying a nation that is stable, peace-loving, and fully integrated into the international community.
At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.
