Hanoi (VNA) – A series of events were held in the French city of Saint Herblain over the weekend, aiming topromote the Vietnamese cultur🌳e to the French.
The events included an international exhibit and workshops presenting paintings by Vietnamese children as well as those by their friends from 20 other countries. They also featured a collection by young artist ThaoNguyen of Hoi An ancient town. This is part of the Toucher Arts project, which comprisesa series of concerts, exhibitions and workshops on Vietnamese culture atschools in France from June 20 to July 3, marking the 50 years of the diplomaticrelations and the 10 years of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France.

Hosted by Art Space Association, in cooperationwith the Vietnam Bretagne Sud Association and APPEL Lorient Association, Toucher Arts contributes to spreading Vietnamese culture to the world and also raising fundsto help disadvantaged children and those with disability in Vietnam. The project also organised events at three primary schools and ahigh school in Nantes and Saint Herblain cities from June 19-23, offeringopportunities for French students to know more about the Vietnamese culture. Students experienced folk games such as lion dancing andlearned about Vietnamese childhood toys like star lanterns and bamboodragonflies. They also learned about Mid-Autumn Festival and the Vietnamese traditional Lunar New Year and participated in making starlanterns and red envelopes for lucky money. Driss Saïd, Vice Mayor of Saint Herblain, said he is happy toattend events organised by Art Space, especially as their activitiesfocus on promoting friendly relations between Vietnam and France throughcultural activities. He also expressed his pleasure to have learned more about Vietnam,a country with a special and rich cultural identity./.
A musical documentary film introducing Vietnamese music and culture was screened on June 19 at Forum des Images movie theatre in Paris as an opening activity of the 41st annual music festival week of France “La Fête de la Musique”.
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines held a ceremony in Paris on June 21 to mark 20 years of its direct air routes linking Vietnam’s Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with France.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
