Vietnamese association in RoK elects new executive board
A 21-member executive board of the Vietnamese association in the Republic of Korea for the 2017-2019 tenure was elected at the association’s conference in Seoul on July 8.
Seoul (VNA) – A 21-member executive board of theVietnamese association in the Republic of Korea for the 2017-2019 tenure waselected at the association’s conference in Seoul on July 8 which reviewed its2015-2017 activities and outline tasks for 2017-2019 tenure.
Nguyen Ngoc Cam, Honorary Mayor of Seoul was elected as chairwoman while TranHai Linh, Chairman of the association’s executive board for the 2015-2017tenure, as Honorary Chairman.
Speaking at the event, Linh said nearly 150,000 Vietnamesepeople are living and working in the RoK.
In the past years, the association held a number of culturaland sport festivals, provided support for multi-cultural Vietnam-RoK familiesand Vietnamese nationals living in need in both the RoK and the home country.Notably, a photo exhibition affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa andTruong Sa archipelagos and requiems for Vietnamese martyrs were also held whilea fund “For Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty” was established.
During the third tenure from 2017-2019, the association willcontinue popularising images of Vietnam and its people, particularly in 2017when Vietnam and the RoK celebrate the 25th anniversary of bilateral diplomaticties.
In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen Vu Tucommitted support to the association so that the Vietnamese nationals in theRoK could further contribute to bilateral ties.-VNA

The fourth annual Conference of Vietnamese Young Scientists (ACVYS) took place in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on June 25, featuring nearly 100 reports and research presented by Vietnamese scholars and students living in the host country.

Today, the press for foreign service has evolved into a distinct, irreplaceable force, bridging Vietnam with the world and portraying a nation that is stable, peace-loving, and fully integrated into the international community.
At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.
