Vietnam seeks external information experience of Belarus, Estonia

Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation from theCentral Steering Committee for External Information Service, led by PartyCentral Committee member and deputy head of the Party Central Committee’sCommission for Communication and Education Thuan Huu recently visited Belarusand Estonia to exchange experience in external information service.
During the working trips to the two Europeancountries from June 25 to July 2, Huu, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam JournalistsAssociation and Editor-in-chief of Nhan dan (People) newspaper, informed thehosts about Vietnam’s socio-economic situation and diplomatic accomplishmentsin recent years as well as the rapid development of the information and pressindustry.
While working with Belarus’s Ministry ofCommunications and Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National StateTelevision and Radio Company (Belteleradio) and Belarusian Telegraph Agency(Belta), Huu highly spoke of the traditional friendship and cooperation betweenthe two countries and peoples through historical periods.
He suggested the two sides boost cooperation invarious fields, including the dissemination of external information.
Belarus recommended diversifying means ofdisseminating external information as well as providing full, comprehensive andtruthful information about the situation and development in each country,contributing to the reinforcement of their good traditional friendship.
The two sides also shared experience in buildingand implementing external information strategies, promoting the image of eachcountry’s land, culture and people, and handling false and distortedinformation.
While working with Estonia’s Ministry of ForeignAffairs and Postimees news, the Vietnamese official emphasised Vietnam’sgreat attachment to the relations with Estonia.
He congratulated the Estonian Government on theelection to the non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council for 2020-2021along with Vietnam, Niger, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Tunisia.
He hoped the two sides will bolster multifacetedcooperation, especially in exchanging information between media agencies.
Estonia shared experience in supporting pressagencies in the communication work to serve national economic and tourismdevelopment.
It hoped press agencies of the two sides willstrengthen coordination and increase information exchanges in specific fieldsto help their people understand better about the respective countries, thuscontributing to cementing the bilateral friendship.
The two sides agreed to promote means ofexchanging external information and press delegation exchanges.-VNA
Vietnam and Estonia have seen bilateral cooperation growing in recent years, as evidenced by close coordination and mutual support at international organisations.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.

In the context where AI dominates and produces vast volumes of content, the only sustainable path forward for journalism is to focus on high-quality content and core values. Journalism must redefine its mission - not to report the fastest, but to provide the most profound and trustworthy value.
