Paris (VNA) – Vietnam is attending the 87thfestival of L’Humanité (Humanity) Newspaper – a body of the French CommunistParty, which is underway at La Courneuve Park on the outskirts of Paris fromSeptember 15-17.
The booth of Vietnam features a place for the exhibitionof Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and another showcasing the country’s traditionalcuisine.
The exhibition was opened with Vietnamese Ambassador toFrance Nguyen Ngoc Son, Lao Ambassador Yong Chanthalangsy and Politburo memberof the French Communist Party Denis Rondepierre in attendance.
Speaking at the launching event, Nhan Dan Newspaper’sDeputy Editor-in-Chief Dinh Nhu Hoan said the newspaper is honoured to returnto this year’s festival and it is an opportunity to demonstrate the close tiesbetween the two countries’ Communist Parties, newspapers, and people.
The three-day festival depicts values of peace and humansecurity and spirit of international solidarity, Rondepierre said, adding thatit aims to promote a world of equality, progress and solidarity.
Seminars at the event focus to address the globalpressing issues, including maintaining peace in the Middle East, the environmentand climate change issues, inequality and poverty, struggle for democracy andEU reforms.
The festival also features cultural performances, bookintroduction, arts exhibitions, mobile cinema and discussions onliterature.-VNA
