Laos and Vietnam should step up their relations and cement their special solidarity in the context of unexpected and complicated iglobal situation, a senior official of Laos has said.
Vientiane (VNA) – Laos and Vietnam should step up their relations and cement theirspecial solidarity in the context of unexpected and complicated global situation,General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of LaosBounnhang Volachith has said.
He was speaking at areception for Chairman of the Vietnam Presidential Office Dao Viet Trung and adelegation from the office in Vientiane on April 5.
Trung informed his host of the outcomes of the talks with his counterpart KhammeangPhongthady on April 4, saying both offices agreed to continue cooperation and experiencesharing to better serve the respective countries’ leaders.
Bounnhang Volachit spoke highly of the affiliation between the two presidentialoffices, and affirmed that that affiliation will contribute to enhancing thetwo countries’ traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensivecooperation.
He said he expects the offices will ratchet up close coordination to accomplishassigned tasks and help foster the bilateral special relations.
In 2017, the twocountries will have a lot of activities to mark the 55th anniversaryof diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of theTreaty on Friendship and Cooperation, enabling young people to understand the bilateralclose bond and take actions to continue preserving the ties in the coming time,he said.-VNA
Vietnamese Public Security Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh and his Lao counterpart Sinthavong Sayakon agreed to push ahead with the effective cooperation between the two ministries at their talks in Vientiane on February 15.
