Vietnam will join efforts with El Salvador to increase exchange,cooperation and practical activities to boost friendship and mutualunderstanding between the two countries’ people.

This was signalled at a meeting between Vu Xuan Hong, President of theVietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and El Salvador ’sForeign Minister Hugo Martinez, in Hanoi on April 1.

El Salvador ’s Foreign Minister and his entourage paid a visit to Vietnam from March 30 to April 1.

During the reception, VUFO President Hong stressed that the visit toVietnam by El Salvador ’s Foreign Minister offered an opportunityfor the two sides to put forward measures to bolster friendship betweenthe two countries’ people while contributing to deepening mutualunderstanding.

Hong briefed his guest about recentactivities carried out by VUFO, saying the union will strengthen itsoperations in the coming time to enhance the exchange, friendship andcooperation between the two nations.

For his part,the El Salvador officials of the VN- El Salvador FriendshipAssociation pledged to make all-out efforts to contribute to stepping upbilateral relations in numerous areas.

During hisvisit to Vietnam, El Salvador’s Minister paid tribute to President HoChi Minh at his Mausoleum, held working sessions with leaders of theMinistries of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Agriculture and RuralDevelopment; Training and Education, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce andIndustry and the military-run telecommunications group Viettel./.
