Hong Kong (VNA) – Vietnamese enterprises are making a distinctive impression at the 2025 Fashion InStyle international expo in Hong Kong, with innovative, environmentally friendly fashion products crafted from coffee grounds, banana fibres, pineapple leaves, and lotus stems.
Speaking to Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Hong Kong, Phan Minh Nguyet, Director of International Victory JSC, shared that her company is showcasing garments made from a blend of banana fibre and cotton. These textiles possess antibacterial and deodorising properties, offering skin-friendly comfort while also supporting the planet. Notably, for each product sold, the company contributes 1,000 VND (0.038 USD) to an environmental fund dedicated to protecting Vietnam’s coral reefs.
Similarly, Tran Hoang Phu Xuan, Director of Faslink JSC, highlighted her firm’s 17-year journey in the field of sustainable textile solutions. At this fair, Faslink is presenting fashion materials derived from coffee grounds, lotus leaves, and pineapple fibres.
Andrew Jackson, CEO of the management consultancy Optimal Edge, remarked that Vietnam is exceptionally well-positioned to make a significant leap onto the international stage. He noted that, environmentally, the country benefits from an abundance of natural fibres, while a growing number of factories are transitioning to sustainable practices, including the adoption of biomass boilers, wastewater treatment facilities, and solar energy infrastructure.
Running from April 27 to 30, the Fashion InStyle sees the partici🌠pation of sustainable and eco-conscious suppliers from 19 countries and territories. It is also being held alongside several other major trade fairs, including exhibit⛎ions for household goods, gifts, printing, and international packaging. Collectively, the events host some 6,000 booths representing 30 countries and territories./.
