Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s Deputy ForeignMinister Bui Thanh Son and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ramiz Hasanov conducted apolitical consultation in Hanoi on March 12 to discuss bilateral relations, aswell as regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The two sides expressed their satisfaction atthe positive development of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan traditional friendship inrecent years and affirmed their wish to boost the bilateral multifacetedcooperation.
They hailed the close and effective cooperationbetween the two foreign ministries over the years, significantly contributingto the enhancement of the bilateral relations.
The two deputy ministers agreed to maintainregular delegation exchanges at all levels, especially amongst high-rankingofficials; continuously improve the legal framework for bilateral collaborationin all fields, especially in investment protection and encouragement, as wellas education-training; and expand affiliation in such potential areas as oiland gas, culture, sports, and tourism.
They agreed to strengthen coordination atregional and international forums, particularly at the United Nations, to maintainpeace, stability, and respect for the law across the world.
The Azerbaijani diplomat highly valued Vietnam’ssocio-economic development and international integration and congratulated thecountry on the successful organisation of the second DPRK-US summit in Hanoi inFebruary 2019, helping to increase the prestige and position of Vietnam in theglobal arena.
For his part, Son hoped that the non-alignedmovement summit in Azerbaijan’s Baku this year would be a resounding success. –VNA
