Vietnam, Australia boost cooperation in personnel training, policy research

Hanoi (VNA) - President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) Nguyen Xuan Thang highly valued contributions made by out-goinꦇg Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski to promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partners🌠hip between the two countries while receiving the diplomat in Hanoi on December 12.
During the reception, Thang, who is also Chairman of the Central Theory Council, underlined the importance of upgrading the Vietnam-Australia relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, stressing that it is necessary to well perform key directions to deepen cooperation between the two countries in a more effective and substantive manner.
Thang spoke highly of Goledzinowski's contributions to developing the Vietnam-Australia Centre, which serves as a dynamic training, research, and knowledge exchange centre between the two countries. He affirmed that the centre is a symbol of mutual trust between Vietnam and Australia as it helps strengthen the bilateral relationship, especially in areas related to human rights work, thus supporting Vietnam in completing a project to integrate human rights education into the national education system.
This collaboration has contributed to helping Vietnam build a leadership team with strong capabilities, public management skills, and evidence- and practical experience-based policy-making expertise, which are essential for the country's development and international integration, he said.
He hoped Goledzinowsk, in any position, will continue to support and promote the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in general, as well as cooperation between Australian partners and the HCMA in particular.
Goledzinowski said during his tenure in Vietnam, he came to understood the importance of balance and harmony, stressing that Vietnam and Australia are on the threshold of a new era of innovation and creativity, with this new era of Vietnam gradually unfolding at a decisive moment.
Australia desires to further promote bilateral cooperation in institutions, infrastructure, human resources, and human rights, he said, showing his confidence that Vietnam will successfully achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation when it celebrates its 100th founding anniversary in 2045.
Thang took this occasion to present the insignia "For the cause of training and fostering political theory" to the Australian diplomat, and certificates of merit of the HCMA’s President to Cherie Russell, Development Counselor at the Australian Embassy, and Quentin Derrick, International Director of the Vietnam - Australia Centre.
