Lieut. Gen. Ty lauded the visitof the top US Navy leader to Vietnam, which aims to strengthen thepartnership between the two armed forces and navies on the occasion ofthe 20 anniversary of the normalisation of diplomatic ties betweenVietnam and the US.
Defence ties between the twocountries have been growing in recent years with enhanced navalcooperation, he noted, adding that the two navies have fosteredcollaboration on training, search and rescue, military medicine andensuring maritime security and safety.
Ray Mabusheld that potential of bilateral naval cooperation is high. He said theexchange of delegations at all levels and joint activities between thetwo navies will contribute to fostering the partnership betweenVietnamese and US armed forces.-VNA
