US commits to respecting Vietnam’s development path
US officials have reiterated the US’s policy of respecting independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, political system and development path of Vietnam during recent meetings with Vietnamese officials, said a Vietnamese diplomat.

Washington D.C (VNA) - USofficials have reiterated the US’s policy of respecting independence,sovereignty, territorial integrity, political system and development path ofVietnam during recent meetings with Vietnamese officials, said a Vietnamesediplomat.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Ha KimNgoc unveiled the information in an interview to a US-based Vietnam News Agency(VNA) correspondent after US representatives delivered speeches on socialism atthe 73rd session of the UN General Assembly on September 25.
The US’s policy on relations withVietnam was also stated in the joint statement on the establishment of theVietnam-US comprehensive partnership, Ngoc elaborated.
He affirmed that Vietnam has pursued apolicy of developing relations with all countries, including the US, on thebasis of fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter.
Vietnam’s development path has beenselected by the Vietnamese people, Ngoc said, adding that under the leadershipof the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people gained independence,national reunification and a lot of achievements in perfecting the law-governedsocialist state, hence building a wealthy, strong, democratic, equal and civilizedcountry.-VNA
