Tay Ninh strives to eliminate temporary houses by Q2

Tay Ninh (VNA) - Tay Ninh province is accelerating the construction and renovation of houses for poo𒆙r and near-poor households, revolution contributors, and families of fallen soldiers, ensurinꦏg that the works are completed by April 30, with the remaining cases finalised in Q2.
In 2025, the southwestern province plans to rebuild or renovate 567 houses under its temporary housing eradication plan, including 443 new constructions and 124 repairs, with an estimated budget of over 44.8 billion VND (1.75 million USD).
To date, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee's Standing Board has allocated funds for 451 houses, totaling over 30 billion VND. Of these, 384 new houses and 67 repairs are underway, with 76 homes already completed and handed over. The province has repaired 113 houses, including 67 for households meeting national poverty standards and 46 under the provincial criteria.
As of February 19, donors have pledged to donate 37.96 billion VND to the initiative, with 36.7 billion VND already transferred to the “For the Poor” Fund, reaching 96.68% of the target.
Tay Ninh currently has 1,486 poor and near-poor households based on multi-dimensional poverty standards, including 752 in urgent need of housing support./.
An event was held to present 3.5 billion VND (nearly 140,000 USD) to support progammes aimed at eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and ensuring social welfare, and 1,000 gifts to policy beneficiary and poor households in Tan Chau district, the southern province of Tay Ninh, as the Lunar New Year approaches.
Tay Ninh is courting investments across six projects in urban development, 15 in housing, 10 in commercial and market infrastructure, two in education and training, 11 in transportation, two in export-import warehousing, nine in agriculture, and three in tourism.
The event, the 12th of its kind jointly, was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium and Chris Geyskens, Chairwoman of the Belgium chapter of the Hoi An – Vietnam Association for Victims of AO/Dioxin.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.
