Singapore will host the 14th ASEAN Telecommunications andInformation Technology Senior Officials Meeting (TELSOM) and the 13thASEAN Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministers Meeting(TELMIN) from November 11-15.

This eventis jointly organised by the Ministry of Communications and Information(MCI) and the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore,says IDA website. The TELS OM/TELMIN is ASE AN’s annual forum todiscuss and enhance regional cooperation on Information andCommunications Technology (ICT) matters.

According to the tentative programme, TELSOM plenary will be held onNov. 12. ASEAN telecommunications and information technology seniorofficials will meet with counterparts from China , Japan, theRepublic of Korea, and India as well as the European Union (EU)and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on separateoccasions on Nov. 13.

The two-day 13th TELMINwill begin on Nov. 14 under the theme “Connecting Communities,Co-Creating Possibilities”. In conjunction with the meeting, the ASEANICT Awards 2013 ceremony will be held the same day.

TELMIN plus ITU, TELMIN plus China, TELMIN plus Japan, TELMIN plusthe Republic of Korea , and TELMIN plus India will be held onNov. 15, separately. The same day will witness the signing ceremony ofASEAN-China Minutes of Understanding on bilateral cooperation.-VNA
