Paris (VNA) – The Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global)reaped many impressive results in its key sectors in 2018, according to its PresidentProf. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong.
He made the statementduring a congress for the 2019-2021 tenure of the association, which took placein Paris on January 12.
Speaking at the event,Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Thiep said activities of the AVSE Globalhave greatly contributed to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
Notably, the secondVietnam Sustainability Forum is set to take place in late January, which willcreate an international exchange platform for global leaders, entrepreneurs, scientistsand experts to present and discussworldwide initiatives, practices and visionary trends about sustainability.
In the previoustenure, the AVSE Global joined hands with Vietnam’s relevant agencies to holdseven workshops and policy forums on digital economy, leadership, publicpolicy, and finance – banking, among others.
It also organisedvarious training programmes, particularly those designed for technicalofficials and future leaders. Nearly 20 policy reports were submitted to theVietnamese Government and relevant agencies.
Meanwhile, 10strategic projects have been launched, including those related to the Van Don SpecialEconomic Zone, education networks, economic policy, and strategies to attractVietnamese talents across the world.
Established in May2011, the France-based AVSE Global brings together about 250 scientists andexperts who are living in many parts of the world. It aims to connectintellectual sources in a systematic way to identify ideas, strategies, andimplementation in all fields of science and techniques in foreign countries andat the same time orient to make contributions to the development of Vietnam.-VNA
