Hanoi (VNA) – The Prime Minister has approved the plans to build DongMit reservoir in the central province of Binh Dinh and Canh Tang reservoir inthe northern province of Hoa Binh.
The Dong Mit reservoir has designed capacity of 89.8 million cubic metres andan estimated investment of nearly 2.14 trillion VND (94.1 million USD). It isbuilt to store water for socio-economic development and improve the localecosystem and the environment Binh Dinh’s four districts of An Lao, Hoai An,Hoai Nhon and Phu My.
The construction of the reservoir is expected to be completed in 2021.
Meanwhile, Canh Tang reservoir will be constructed during 2017-2020 with totalinvestment of over 3.1 trillion VND (over 136 million USD).
The 93 million cubic-metre reservoir will provide water for about 6,460hectares of farm land in 17 communes in Hoa Binh’s Lac Son and Yen Thuydistricts as well as Lac Thinh industrial zone in Yen Thuy district. Thereservoir will also help with the restructuring of local agriculture and the livingconditions of people in Yen Thuy and Lac Son districts, and Thanh Hoaprovince’s Thach Thanh district.-VNA
