Ninh Thuan (VNA) - President Vo Van Thuong advised the centralprovince of Ninh Thuan to develop luxury tourism, digital transformation andhigh technology, while working with the provincial Party Committee on June 16 aspart of his working visit to the locality.
Thuong requested the coastal province to seek measures tobring into full play its potential and strengths, and focus on developing industriesand fields with high competitive advantages.
It is important for Ninh Thuan to maintain investment in buildinginfrastructure, especially digital infrastructure, and infrastructure in otherfields besides traffic; pay attention to environmental protection, resourcemanagement, and climate change response; well implement social policies; andpromote sustainable poverty reduction, he stated.
The leader also asked the province to strengthen nationaldefence and step up dissemination and education to raise people's awareness ofsafeguarding the Fatherland and national sovereignty.
Emphasising the need to intensify the building andrectification of the Party and the political system, the State leader requiredthe province to take this as a key factor and the top task of the Partycommittees and organisations at all levels, and step up the fight againstcorruption and negative phenomena.
Higher determination and more efforts are needed tosuccessfully implement the socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025period, noted the President.

The scale of the economy expanded, while percapita income last year hit 76.8 million VND (3,260 USD), higher than theaverage of the north-central and central coastal regions. Budget revenue in2022 reached 3.83 trillion VND, 28.5% higher than the estimate assigned by theGovernment. The figure in the first half of this year was estimated at 1.819 trillionVND.
Last year, the sea-based economy made up over 40% of theprovince’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP). Notably, renewable energy made up 21% of the GRDP. The province is gradually becoming a renewable energycentre of the country with 57 projects whose combined capacity is over 3,400 MW./.
