A photo exhibition opened in the former imperial city of Hue on Sept. 2, featuring its relic sites of the past and present.
Theevent is part of the activities to mark the 68th anniversary ofVietnam’s August Revolution and National Day, the 20th anniversary ofthe Hue relic complex as a world tangible heritage and 10 years sincethe UNESCO recognised Hue Royal Court Music as an intangible heritage ofhumankind.
On display are 34 posters and thousands of photos taken at Hue relic sites over the years.
Theexhibited photos describe important historic periods of Hue, rangingfrom the successful August Revolution that ended the 143-year rule ofNguyen Dynasty, the return of French colonialists to Indochina and USimperialists’ intervention in Vietnam that made the ancient capital afierce battlefield to international efforts to help Hue relic sitessurvive.
Visitors to the exhibition have an opportunity to lookback on Hue’s great achievements in preserving national cultural values.
On the day, the Hue Relic Conservation Centre offered freeentrance tickets to domestic visitors to all relic sites as a start of atourism promotion campaign that aims to attract more tourists to theancient capital city.-VNA
