Personnel preparations for 13th National Party Congress
The personnel preparations for the 13th national party congress have been carried out carefully through 12th-tenure Party Central Committee's sessions.
An online conference was held on December 19 in by the Ho Chi Minh Institute under the Saint Petersburg University of Russia, spotlighting the changing role of Vietnam in the contemporary world, heading to the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
The 12th-tenure Party Central Committee reached high consensus on personnel work related to the 13th tenure Politburo and Party Central Committee Secretariat during the 14th session, which concluded on December 18 morning after nearly five working days, two days ahead of schedule.
The information and education board of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has decided to suspend Tat Thanh Cang, deputy head of the compilation group for the history of the city’s Party organisation, from work for three months to serve an investigation, the board said on December 20.
In his closing speech at the 10th plenum of the Party Central Committee in September 2024, Party General Secretary Lam declared: “With the position and strength accumulated over 40 years of renewal, and with the unity of the entire Party, people, and army, alongside new opportunities under the sound Party leadership, we now possess the essential conditions to enter a new era."
Based on the developments of disasters, epidemics, national defence and security conditions, and public order and safety, and upon proposals from relevant ministries or provincial-level People’s Committee chairpersons, the Prime Minister may request the NA Standing Committee to declare a state of emergency, according to a draft law.
