Party leader pays working visit to Quang Ninh province

Quang Ninh (VNA) – PartyGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong paid a working visit to the northeastern province of Quang Ninh on April6, during which he encouraged continued development.
Reporting on the province's situation, Secretaryof the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’sCouncil Nguyen Xuan Ky said despite unprecedented difficulties and challengesover the past two years, especially COVID-19 outbreaks, Quang Ninh had managedto maintain safety, stability and development in the new normal, withdouble-digit growth in gross regional domestic product (GRDP) for six straightyears (2016 - 2021).
The province has moved to safelyadapt to the pandemic and achieved encouraging results while caring for publichealth, sustaining production and business activities, boosting socio-economicdevelopment, and recovering tourism, he noted.
Applauding the province's efforts, General Secretary Trong said Quang Ninh has becomeone of the leading provinces and cities in multiple spheres, a bright spot of reform inthe north, and a growth engine for the region.
He called on the province to pushahead with innovation, and continue making reforms to develop strongly andcomprehensively.
Fast development should beaccompanied by sustainability, he said, requesting Quang Ninh to avoid restingon its laurels.
The Party leader also underlined thetasks of building an incorruptible and strong Party and political system, andpromoting economic growth in tandem with developing culture, handling socialissues, protecting the environment, and ensuring social security, especiallyfor revolutionary contributors, ethnic minorities, residents in mountainous,border, and insular areas, and low-income earners.
He added that Quang Ninh should pay due attention to new-style rural area buildingand “green” agriculture; capitalise on the newly opened transport systems toenhance inter-regional connectivity; sustainably develop tourism; firmlysafeguard land and maritime border security; while guaranteeing a border ofpeace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development with China; andexpanding international cooperation.
During his trip, the General Secretary visited the Yen Tu Complex of Monumentsand Landscapes and workers of the Vang Danh Coal JSC in Uong Bi city./.
The People's Committee of Quang Ninh on March 12 held a conference to announce its application of an electronic ISO software system following the Vietnamese standard ISO 9001:2015 in the operations of 227 local public administrative agencies, making the province the first in the northern region to do so.

The amended law will take effect on July 1, 2025, except for provisions on civil servant evaluation in Section 3, Chapter IV, which will be implemented from January 1, 2026.
