Over half of localities complete elimination of dilapidated houses

Hanoi (VNA) – As of July 27, 19 out of 34 provinces and cities, or 55.9%, have completed the replacement of temporary and dilapid🐎ated houses, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

In the past week, Ca Mau announced completion of its programme, while six other provinces Cao Bang, Phu Tho, Dien Bien, Quang Nam, Dak Lak and Gia Lai have started construction on 100% of targeted homes.
On July 19, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1568/QD-TTg allocating nearly 1.94 trillion VND (74 million USD) from the increased 2024 central budget revenue to support housing for revolution contributors and families of fallen soldiers. By July 27, a total of 268,470 houses had been completed or under construction nationwide. Of these, 234,975 were completed and handed over, while 33,495 are underway. The figure includes 41,800 completed houses for revolution contributors. The full completion of housing support for the group on the occasion of the 78th War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) reflects strong political commitment and the coordinated efforts of central and local authorities./.
