National COVID-19 vaccine fund raises over 4.8 trillion VND
The national COVID-19 vaccine fund received more than 4.84 trillion VND (210.2 million USD) worth of donations from 283,169 organisations and individuals as of 5pm on June 12, according to the fund's management board.

Hanoi (VNA) – The national COVID-19 vaccine fund receivedmore than 4.84 trillion VND (210.2 million USD) worth of donations from 283,169 organisationsand individuals as of 5pm on June 12, according to the fund's management board.
Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc said that his ministry commits to transparently publicisingthe fund’s daily and periodical amounts of donations obtained as well as the spending of the Ministry of Health after each round of the domestic vaccinationagainst COVID-19.
Theministry, which is in charge of the vaccine fund, has established a managementboard for it at the State Treasury and opened a bank account to receivesupport from individuals and organisations inside and outside the country.
Vietnamneeds 150 million doses of vaccines to administer about 75 percent of itspopulation this year, with total cost amounting to 25.2 trillion VND./.
The Vietnamese Party and State consider public consensus, responsibility, and social resources as important factors in wiping out the pandemic, and in such a spirit, the Prime Minister on May 26 issued Resolution No 53/NQ-CP and Decision No 779/QD-TTg on the establishment of a COVID-19 national vaccine fund to receive, manage, and use donations in cash and kind to import, study, and produce vaccines at home, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said.
Fund-raising programmes to support the national COVID-19 vaccine fund in the homeland were launched by Vietnamese embassies in Tanzania, Mexico, and South Africa on June 10.
The Ministry of Finance received 326 billion VND (14.1 million USD) worth of donations on June 11 from the financial and other sectors for the national COVID-19 vaccine fund.
The Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic on June 11 granted 500 million VND (21,720 USD), donated by the Vietnamese community in the country, to Vietnam's national COVID-19 vaccine fund.
