Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) deputies arescheduled to debate the draft Law on Reserve Force on June 11 as part of theirongoing seventh session.
Minister of Defence Ngo Xuan Lich will respond to opinionsof the deputies on the bill, which comprises five chapters and 47 articles.
In the morning, the deputies will listen to reportspresented by Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh andChairman of the NA Law Committee Le Thi Nga verifying the proposal on the NA’sapproval of the appointment of the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Courtbefore discussing the proposal.
In the afternoon, the NA will pass a resolution approvingthe State budget balance for 2017, along with a resolution on the law andordinance building programme for 2020 and adjustments to the programme for2019.
They will then discuss the draft Law on Library, whichincludes seven chapters and 51 articles.
They will focus on major issues of the bill, includingspecific library models, library operations, the supply of library products,and the rights and obligations of library users.

Most opinions at the debate at the National Assembly on June 7 morning supported Vietnam’s joining Convention 98 of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on the application of principles of the right to organise and bargain collectively.
The participation in Convention No. 98 of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) was among the issues discussed by lawmakers on June 7 – the 15th working day of the 14th National Assembly (NA)’s on-going seventh session.
National Assembly deputies shared the view that the Prime Minister and ministers should be given more power, while discussing the draft law amending and supplementing some articles of the Law on Organisation of the Government and the Law on Organisation of the Local Governments on June 10.
Since the signing of the Vietnam-Cambodia trade and economic cooperation agreement, trade and investment ties have seen remarkable growth, substantially contributing to each country's socio-economic development and facilitating collaboration in various spheres, said Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu.

The new law abolishes the death penalty for eight criminal offenses: the crime aimed at overthrowing the people’s government; the crime of sabotaging state infrastructure and technical facilities; the crime of producing and trading counterfeit medicines for treatment and prevention; the crime of destroying peace and causing aggressive war; the crime of espionage; that of illegally transporting narcotics; embezzlement; and bribe taking.
Vietnam will continue to coordinate closely with and make positive contributions to the initiatives and collective work of the Group of 77 (G77) developing nations, said Ambassador Do Hung Viet, head of the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the UN.
