
Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has proposed to the Government a programme to support businesses, especially small🎉 and medium-sized enterprises (SME), to speed up digital transformation and restructuring starting from 2021, aiming to help them catch up with the world transformation trend, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong h𝓀as said.
Addressing a press briefing held by the Government Office on January 4 to introduce the Government’s Resolutions No. 01 and 02, Phuong said that the support will help Vietnamese businesses strengthen their linkages to create a synergy and assist them thrive and overcome shortcomings. “I hope this will be motivation for businesses and society to further develop,” said Phuong. Meanwhile, Minister-Chairman of Government Office Mai Tien Dung said that digital transformation is one of the important tasks in the future. The Government has set 96 specific tasks for sectors and areas to lay a foundation for ministries, sectors and localities to build their own plans and assess the outcomes of the implementation of their resolutions.
The Government determines that 2021’s action motto is “Solidarity, discipline, renovation, creativity and aspiration for development” with key directions including conducting thorough preparations for successful organisation of the 13th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the People’s Councils election at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; continuing to resolutely, flexibly and effectively pursue the “dual goal” of COVID-19 pandemic c✱ontainment and recovery in the new normal; continuing to refine and improve the quality of the comprehensive, synchronous, modern and integrated socialist-oriented market economic institutions; and resolutely pursuing public administration reform, with a focus on public administrative procedures, ensuring effectiveness and substantiality in conjunctioཧn with promoting national digital transformation, the provision of public services to the people and enterprises, the creation of an open and favorable business environment, the vigorous attraction of investment and the promotion of innovative start-up enterprises.
To this end, it gives a number of tasks and solutions, including effectively carrying out tasks related to the organization of the 13th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the People’s Councils at all levels; promulgating a☂ction plans to promptly i🐽mplement Resolutions of the Party and the National Assembly; continuing to flexibly and effectively pursue “dual goal” of COVID-19 containment and recovery in the new normal; and fostering economic restructuring in conjunction with transforming growth model and increasing the productivity, quality, efficiency, self-reliance and competitiveness of the economy based on scientific and technological innovation.
Meanwhile, Resolution No. 02 is on the continued implementation of major tasks and solutions for improving the business environment and the national competitiveness in 2021. It noted that in 2020, together with the efforts to well manage the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government and the Prime Minister directed ministries, sectors, and localities to pay utmost attention to implementing solutions to support enterprises to overcome multifaceted impacts of the pandemic and to boosting recovery. The year 2021 has important implications for the country's socio-economic development in the new normal as the country will foster post-pandemic recovery. It is the first year Vietnam implements the Socio-economic Development Strategy for 2021-2030 and the Socio-economic Development Plan for 2021-2025. Successful realisation of this year’s targets and tasks will create foundation and source of encouragement for the following years.
