More than 24,000 tourists chose Mong Cai city, the northern border province of Quang Ninh, as their destination on the first five days, from February 2 to 6, of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

Quang Ninh (VNA) – More than 24,000 tourists chose Mong Cai city, the northernborder province of Quang Ninh, as their destination on the first five days,from February 2 to 6, of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
Among them, nearly 18,100 came to the city viathe Mong Cai International Border Gate, according to the city’s culture andinformation division.
On February 5 – the first day of the Year of thePig, the local administration held a programme to welcome the first foreignvisitors who were nearly 200 Chinese from Guangxi province.
Over 5,300 holidaymakers set foot in the city onthat day alone, about 4,000 of whom arrived via the Mong Cai InternationalBorder Gate.
Meanwhile, more than 200 Vietnamese visitedChina via this port of entry the same day.
On February 6, the tourist number in Mong Cairose to nearly 9,600.
The culture and information division saidauthorised forces at the border gate has promoted the handling of exit-entryprocedures so as to create the best possible conditions for travelactivities.-VNA
