Vientiane (VNA) – Anti-drug forces of Laos’s northern province of Bokeo have broken a drug trafficking case with a large amount of drugs and many related objects.
The case was detected in Chiangthong village of Paktha district on May 12. Local authorities have detained two suspects and seized millions of drug tablets, one pickup truck, three guns and hundreds of bullets, 1 million THB, two cell phones and many other items.
Initial investigation results showed that the suspects both reside in Bokeo. Lao police are expanding investigation to detect relevant individuals.
Laos's northern region is in the Golden Triangle area, one of the drug hotspots for many years.
