Lao leaders pay tribute to former Vietnamese President Le Duc Anh

In the funeral book,the top Lao leader wrote that with the passing away of comrade Le Duc Anh, notonly the Vietnamese Party, State and people lost a beloved leader, but the Lao Party, State and people also lost a close friend and comrade.
Comrade Le Duc Anh hadrendered outstanding services to Vietnam’s past struggle for nationalliberation and national building and defence cause over the past more than 80years, and also made important contributions to strengthening and developingthe great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation betweenLaos and Vietnam over the past times, he wrote.
A representative fromthe Lao National Assembly described Gen. Le Duc Anh as an exemplary leader whoplayed an important role in leading Vietnam from success to success whenwriting in the funeral book.
Delegations from the LaoPeople's Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Commission for ExternalRelations, and several ministries of the country also paid tribute to the lateVietnamese leader.

General Le Duc Anh, who served as President of Vietnam from September 1992 to1997, passed away on April 22 at the age of 99.
