Can Tho (VNA) – Japan’s Kishokai Medical Corporation will supportPhuong Chau International Hospital in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho in standardisinghealth care services.
To this effect, an agreement on comprehensive medical cooperation (first phase)was inked between the two sides on July 7.
Under the deal, Kishokai will help the hospital develop its services in linewith international standards while transferring latest assisted reproductivetechnologies such as Day 5 embryo transfer and In Vitro Maturation, andscreening for gynecologic cancer to the hospital.
Also, Phuong Chau hospital will receive assistance in operation and qualitymanagement to professionalise its processes.
According to Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ho, Chairwoman and Director of Phuong Chauhospital, the hospital has mastered In-vitro-Fertilisation (IVF) technology andendoscopic surgery techniques. It is getting the hang of andrology advanced technologies.
There have been 1,400 babies born via IVF at the hospital since it came intooperation seven years ago, she noticed.
The cooperation with Kishokai Corporation will help people in Can Tho city inparticular and the Mekong Delta region in general access the world’s latestscientific achievements.
Meanwhile, Kishokai CEO and Executive Director Mamoru Yamashita said that hisfirm, which was established 11 years ago, is the largest perinatal primary careprovider in Japan. It is in charge of 9,000 deliveries every year.
Besides domestic branches, Kishokai has branched out its operation to Mongolia,Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Rwanda and Vietnam.
The cooperation project with Phuong Chau hospital is expected to back thehospital in fine-tuning its health care services and developing into a modernobstetrical facility in Vietnam, he added.-VNA
