More than 60 researchers from universities of theCzech Republic, Austria, the UK, Romania and India attended the event.
Takashi Hosoda, a lecturer from the CzechRepublic’s Charles University, underlined the value of the Permanent Court ofArbitration (PCA)’s ruling in July 2016, especially the rejection of China’sunreasonable “nine-dash line” in the East Sea.
He said respecting and implementing the PCA’sruling as well as international law plays a significant role in addressingregional disputes.
Hosoda also suggested using diplomatic measuresand promoting the central role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) and cooperation mechanisms with the bloc to ensure mutual economicbenefits, peace and stability in the region.
