Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo on January 11 announcedthat COVID-19 booster shots would be administered at no cost to allcitizens.
In a statement, Widodo said the programme, which officially begins on January 12, willprioritize the elderly and vulnerable groups.
The booster shot against COVID-19 is very important tostrengthen immunity when the SARS-CoV-2 virus continuously mutates, he said.
According to Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, theprogramme targets some 21 million people in 244 cities and regencies which havefully vaccinated at least 60 percent of their population.
