Jakarta (VNA) - The Indonesian government 🦩has decided to cut budget state for meeting activities outside the office for state civil servants froꦯm ministries and institutions starting in 2026.
This policy is part of the government's efforts to reduce public expenditure. The measure is outlined in the Ministry of Finance’s budget standards for the 2026 fiscal year.
Lisbon Sirait, an official from the ministry, said that spending on meetings, including costs for venues, food, and beverages, will be more strictly controlled to ensure greater fiscal efficiency.
The ministry has urged all government ministries and agencies to limit off-site meetings and instead make greater use of technology, such as Zoom, to conduct virtual meetings and ease budgetary pressure.
