New Delhi (VNA) - India andCambodia signed four agreements on January 27, including a 36.9-million-USDcredit package for a water resource development project in Cambodia and an MoUon prevention of human trafficking during an official visit of Cambodian PrimeMinister Samdech Techo Hun Sen to India.
An agreement to foster cooperation in mutuallegal assistance in criminal matters was also endorsed alongside a culturalexchange programme from 2018-2020.
The memorandum of understanding on preventionof human trafficking will allow the two countries to step up cooperation inpreventing, rescuing and repatriating human trafficking victims.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hisCambodian counterpart Hun Sen also agreed during their talks to further bolsterthe two countries’ defence ties through exchanges of senior-level defencepersonnel and capacity building projects.
They also discussed ways to strengthen thedevelopment partnership and reinforce ties in trade and investment, energyconservation, agriculture, culture and tourism.
India is all set to deepen cooperation withCambodia in the time ahead, Modi said.
