Jakarta (VNA) - Hyundai Engineering Co., amajor industrial plant builder of the Republic of Korea, has won a 2.17 billionUSD deal to upgrade a refinery plant in Indonesia.
Under the deal with Indonesia's state-run PT Pertamina, Hyundai Engineeringwill take part in Indonesia Balikpapan Refinery Development Project that aimsto revamp oil processing facilities in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, some 1,000kilometres northeast of Jakarta.
Hyundai Engineering said it will be responsible for theengineering, procurement and construction for the facility upgrade, which willincrease the plant's oil-refining output from 260,000 barrels per day to360,000 barrels per day. The company under Hyundai Motor Group said it isexpected to take 53 months for the completion.
With the latest order, Hyundai Engineering said it has secured 4 billion USDworth of orders overseas. Earlier, italso won a 1.1-billion USD contract in Poland and another worth 534 million USDin the US./.
