Welcoming Senior Minister of State at Ministryof Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Education of Singapore Chee Hong Tat,Liem said that a high-ranking delegation of the city will pay an official visitto Singapore within this year to seek measures to boost bilateral cooperation.
He pledged to do his utmost to improve thecity’s business and investment environment so as to create the most favourableconditions for foreign investors and respect legitimate rights and interests ofthe Singaporean investors in the city.
According to him, Singapore is Ho Chi MinhCity’s biggest investor, with more than 1,100 projects totalling over 10billion USD. It is also the city’s important trade partner, with two-way tradereaching 3.7 billion USD.
Chee Hong Tat, in turn, stated thatSingapore wants to work with Vietnam’s largest city in fostering cooperationbetween the two sides’ enterprises in science-technology transfer anddeveloping start-up firms.
Singapore highly values potential ofVietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in general in technology development, he said,adding that his visit is a good chance for Singaporean firms to seekcooperation opportunities with the city in this field.
The smart city development project of HoChi Minh City is a potential one for cooperation between the two sides, henoted.
Singaporean enterprises showed theirinterest in cooperating with Ho Chi Minh City in Singapore’s strong fields suchas waste treatment, green energy, and production of high-quality agriculturalproducts.-VNA
Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan had a meeting on March 25 with Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
