Hanoi pushes up cultural cooperation with Netherlands

Hanoi (VNA) - During a working session withDutch Ambassador to Vietnam Elsbeth Akkerman in Hanoi on October 23, Chairmanof the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung spoke highly of the effectivecooperation between the two sides in various field, especially culture.
At the session, the two sides agreed to join hands inorganising an exhibition of the world press photos scheduled for December 6 andexchanged information on the F1 auto race to be held in the capital city inApril next year.
They also reach consensus that Hanoi will sendrepresentatives to the jury of the contest on creative design city on Instagramto be held by the Dutch embassy next month in Hanoi, as well as leadingofficials to the Floriade Amterdam – Almere 2020 exhibition in the Netherlands.
The Dutch diplomat expressed her hope for the early licensingfor the exhibition so that it can be held as scheduled.
Chairman Chung said he has assigned the municipal Departmentof Culture, Sports and Tourism to consider the granting of the license, andhoped for better cultural cooperation between the two sides.
Also at the session, besides culture, host and guestexchanged ideas on contents related to the building of a smart city, developinga circular economy and other issues of mutual interest. Chairman Chung askedthe Dutch side to assist Hanoi in holding training courses for officials ofdepartments and districts in the circular economy so that they can meet the requirementson managing and socio-economic development of the capital in the time tocome./.
