The Director Certification Programme (DCP) was launched in Ho Chi Minh City on January 10, a key part of the Global Entrepreneur Programme designed by the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD) in order to promote the best practices in corporate governance among domestic firms.

Specifically,DCP will improve skills of the boards of directors and their professionalism,raise awareness of their responsibilities.
Atthe same time, it will also improve decision-making, management and riskcontrol process, thereby supporting initial public offering and maximising thesustainability of businesses.
KyleKelhofer, Country Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) forVietnam, Cambodia and Laos, said the DCP will enable Vietnamese enterprises tobetter manage risks, increase profitability and access loans.
ExecutiveDirector of Dragon Capital Dominic Scriven said during 25 years of investing inVietnam, he found out that corporate governance in Vietnam remains limited.Therefore, the DCP will help improve personnel quality and seek qualifiedmembers for boards of directors.-VNA
