Several Vietnamese delegations have visited and extended greetings to Cambodia ministries, sectors and localities on the occasion of traditional New Year Chol Chnam Thmey, which falls in mid-April.

PhnomPenh (VNA) – Several Vietnamese delegations have visited and extendedgreetings to Cambodia ministries, sectors and localities on the occasion oftraditional New Year Chol Chnam Thmey, which falls in mid-April.
OnApril 5, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang led a delegation tovisit and extend greetings to Im Chhun Lim, President of the ConstitutionalCouncil of Cambodia (CCC), at the CCC headquarters in Phnom Penh.
Tangbriefed the host about Vietnamese enterprises' investment and businessactivities in Cambodia in 2023, saying that 16 member units of the VietnamRubber Group (VRG) contributed significantly to creating jobs and developingCambodia's rubber industry. These projects have positioned Cambodia as a majorrubber producer globally.

Chol Chnam Thmay is a New Year festival of the Khmer ethnic people according to their traditional calendar. The festival fell on April 14-16 this year. In Soc Trang province, over 400,000 Khmer people celebrated the traditional New Year festival with joy and fun thanks to improved livelihoods.
Chol Chnam Thmay New Year is the biggest festival on the Khmer calendar, which takes place around mid-April of the solar calendar every year. The festival expresses the wish for a new year of favourable rain and wind, and bountiful crops.
