Da Nang (VNA) - Vietnam Airlines resumed direct flights between Japan’s Osaka and Da Nang on July 3, with Flight VN337 marking the first service on the route after a 💖long hiatus.
A welcome ceremony was held at the international arrival hall of Da Nang International Airport, attended by representatives from the Japanese Consulate in Da Nang, city authorities, aviation officials, and Vietnam Airlines.
Passengers were greeted with traditional performances reflecting both Vietnamese and Japanese cultures. The first three arrivals received gifts and round-trip tickets, while others received welcome bags and travel vouchers.

Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the resumption of direct routes supports two-way tourism and cultural exchange. The city has increased promotional activities in Japan, including tourism showcases in Tokyo and Osaka, participation in the Tourism Expo Japan, and hosting Japanese media and influencers.
In the first half of 2025, the beach city welcomed over 108,000 Japanese visitors, accounting for 4.16% of total international arrivals, a slight increase from the same period last year.
Japan and the broader Northeast Asia region remain key markets for Vietnam Airlines, with average annual growth around 20%./.
