Da Nang (VNA) – The central city of Da Nang hosteda seminar on March 31 to promote its economic and agricultural cooperation withShandong province of China.
Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ho Ky Minhsaid the seminar aimed to provide Shandong’s businesses with an insight intothe city’s investment environment, advantages and potential as well as itsdevelopment orientations.
It was also a chance for enterprises of the two localities toseek partners, especially in the field of hi-tech agriculture, Minh added.
Wang Jun Min, an official of Shandong, said hisprovince has been taking the lead in China in terms of agricultural productionand export. It has been ranking first in terms of agricultural export revenuefor 17 consecutive years, making up one-fourth of China’s total farm produceexport earnings.
As Shandong holds a lot of advantages in agricultureand machinery manufacturing, it will encourage Vietnamese firms, includingthose from Da Nang, to invest in these areas.
Wang hoped that Da Nang will provide favourableconditions for Shandong enterprises to invest in the city, and that more Vietnamesekey agricultural products will be exported to Shandong and vice versa.
Shandong province also wants to cooperate withDa Nang in the industry and service sectors, he added.
In 2016, Da Nang earned 22 million USD fromexports to China while importing 210 million USD worth of goods from thiscountry. By the end of March 2017, the city had housed 12 FDI projects investedby Chinese companies with total capital of 6.2 million USD.-VNA
