The Association of Certified Practicing Accountants of Australia (CPAAustralia) will provide the necessary technical support and know-how tohelp Vietnam draw up a legal framework for auditing and accountingservices in the country that conforms to international practices.
An agreement to this effect was signed in Hanoi on May 25 by theVietnamese Ministry of Finance (MoF) and CPA Australia and many of MoF’semployees will receive scholarships to study in Australia as partof the agreement.
Vietnam ’s taxation system will beincluded in CPA’s training programme and the country will also make iteasier for CPA Australia members to be awarded auditing certificates,valid for working in Vietnam .
Speaking at thesigning ceremony, Deputy Finance Minister Truong Chi Trung said theagreement will assist the development of auditing and accountingservices in Vietnam and help MoF to realise its strategy to developits human resources.
The CPA Australia’s GeneralDirector Alex Malley said that Vietnam ’s growth rate and itsintegration into the global economy have increased the demand forprofessional auditors and accountants who are able to work in a dynamicand global environment.
Having experience inconsultancy, legal affairs, auditing and accounting, CPA Australia isready and able to assist Vietnam , he said.
TheCPA is a 126 year old global professional accounting body with 139,000members from 114 countries and territories across the world andestablished representative offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in2008.-VNA
