According to Vietcombank Securities (VCBS), in April and May, container volume rose 13% year-on-year, with Cai Mep-Thi Vai ports up 22%, Lach Huyen up 32% and Ho Chi Minh City ports up 8%.
Cargo throughput across seaports nationwide hit 241 million tonnes in the first four months of 2022, rising 2 percent year-on-year, according to the Vietnam Maritime Administration.
Nearly 485.3 million tonnes of cargo were handled at Vietnam’s seaports in the first eight months of this year, including over 13.9 million TEUs of container cargo, up 6 percent and 8 percent annually, respectively.
